Bills DeAndre Hopkins Trade Idea: Buffalo Adds Star WR, Bolsters Offense
If the season started today the Buffalo Bills would once again be considered one of the top-tier Super Bowl favorites. It isn't hard to see why, either, as their roster is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball.
The Bills are especially stacked on offense, boasting arguably the best quarterback-receiver duo in Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. Aside from Diggs, Allen has weapons in receiver Gabe Davis and the tight end duo of Dalton Knox and 2023 first-round pick Dalton Kincaid.
However, the season doesn't start today and there is still plenty of time for them to bolster their roster. One avenue to do so is via trade, with Buffalo linked throughout the offseason to Arizona Cardinals star receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
With that in mind, Bleacher Report floated a trade idea that would send Hopkins to the Bills for a 2024 third-round pick.
"Hopkins could find all of those desired qualities in the Buffalo Bills, which have an energetic star in Josh Allen, the 2020 Sporting News Executive of the Year in general manager Brandon Beane and a defense that ranked second in points allowed last season," BR writes. "The Bills also need a high-end No. 2 receiver to partner with Stefon Diggs and complementary target Gabe Davis."
Getting a receiver of Hopkins' caliber for as little as a third-round pick would be hard to pass up, especially when taken into consideration the rest of the AFC East loading up this offseason - with the Miami Dolphins trading for Jalen Ramsey and the New York Jets trading for Aaron Rodgers.
In just nine games for the Cardinals last season Hopkins put up solid numbers, recording 64 receptions for 717 yards and three touchdowns. Add him to an offense already featuring Diggs and Davis would be borderline fair, and make the Bills offense that much more unstoppable.
