DeAndre Hopkins Putting End to Bills Trade Rumors? 'Who Said I Wanna Leave?'

As he has a bunch of times this offseason, Arizona Cardinals receiver Deandre Hopkins posted to his Instagram on Monday, but was here to deliver a clearer message. No more teasing any potential trades to the Buffalo Bills this time.

Arizona Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort said during the draft that he didn't "foresee" a trade happening for All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Despite his comments, the possibility still lingered since his denial wasn't as strong as it could've been for a GM who's aware of what's going on behind the scenes.

But this has taken a step further now that the rumor debunking is coming from the potential Buffalo Bills trade target himself.

As he has a bunch of times this offseason, Hopkins posted to his Instagram on Monday, but was here to deliver a clearer message. No more teasing any potential trade destinations this time.

Adding a geotag to his video, Hopkins wanted everyone to know he was back in Arizona and "out here working, baby."

“I see everybody telling me to stay," Hopkins said. "Who said I wanna go? Who said I wanna leave? I'm out here working, baby!"

Well, actually Bills linebacker Von Miller is the one that said "Nuk" could potentially want to leave the Cardinals via trade to Buffalo. Miller was persistent on adding fuel to the fire.

“You just never know until you know,” Miller said recently at a Bills press conference. “Hop said he wanted to be a Buffalo Bill … You just never know until you get that DeAndre Hopkins signature on the contract."

As a friend of Hopkins and one of the most respected players in the league, Miller's word is better than what most journalists could provide.

But while it's hard to see Miller lying about any of these conversations, it's possible that any potential internal issues with Hopkins and the Cardinals have been resolved. After all, the star receiver would likely call Miller out for any possible lies if his rumored desire to play with the Bills was indeed false.

The Hopkins hype was certainly real and reached a boiling point after Miller commented on it day after day leading up to the draft. But with the topic being an afterthought during a draft that was filled with trades and excitement elsewhere, it's now difficult to see any Bills-Hopkins rumors re-gaining traction leading up to the 2023 season.
