BREAKING: Buffalo Bills LB Von Miller To Resume Practicing

Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller will return to practice this week after suffering a torn ACL on Thanksgiving last season.

After tearing his ACL on Thanksgiving, Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller will return to practice this week, ESPN reports.

Due to beginning the season on the PUP list, Miller will miss at least the first four games of the season and thus will be out for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. However, him returning to practice is a major step on the road back.

Once Miller returns to practice, the Bills have a three-week period to activate him to the 53-man roster. The team still doesn't have an exact timetable for his return, though.

Miller previously stated that his goal was to return for the season-opener against the New York Jets on Sept. 11, but he and the team opted for a more cautious approach. The Bills pass-rush has held up without him, tying for third in the league with 12 sacks including nine in their most recent game against the Washington Commanders. Defensive end Leonard Floyd, Miller's former teammate with the Los Angeles Rams, has led the way with 3.5 sacks, while linebacker Terrel Bernard and defensive tackle Ed Oliver have two each.

Miller, 34, is in the second season of a six-year, $120 million contract he signed with the Bills last offseason. His first season in Buffalo went quite well before the injury, as he had eight sacks in the 11 games he played.

Coming back from a torn ACL is never easy, especially at 34, but Miller has as good a chance as anyone. He has come back from a torn ACL before, tearing it late in 2013 with the Denver Broncos but returning in time for the start of the 2014 season.

A future Hall of Fame inductee, Miller has 123.5 sacks and eight Pro Bowl selections throughout his 12-year career. He has two Super Bowls to his name, winning with the Broncos in 2015 and the Rams in 2021. After returning from injury, Miller's ultimate goal is to win his third Lombardi Trophy while helping the Bills win their first in franchise history.
