Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals Week 9 Sunday Night Football: How to Watch, Betting Odds
The Bills travel to hostile territory to Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati to take on the Bengals in a battle between two teams striving for AFC supremacy. The Bengals have won three in a row with wins over Arizona, Seattle, and San Francisco. After a sluggish 0-2 start to the season, Cincinnati has won four of its last five and is once again in the AFC playoff hunt.
The Bills are trending in the other direction. After a 3-1 start, Buffalo is just 2-2 in its last four and needs a win to keep pace with the AFC leaders Miami, Baltimore, Jacksonville, and Kansas City.
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow finally appears healthy after a preseason calf injury slowed him down early in the season, and he looked like his old self in the 31-17 win over San Francisco last week. Burrow threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns with an 87.5 percent completion rate - the best of his career.
“Joe is Joe, man,” said Bills safety Micah Hyde. “Last week was a big indication of what they’re able to do on offense with the weapons he has around him. We know that’s their team, that’s their offense, and they go when Joe goes.”
The last time the Bills played in Cincinnati was on Monday Night Football on Jan. 2. Bills safety Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest in the first quarter. He was revived and rushed to a hospital. The game was postponed and eventually canceled. That night is seared into the memory of everyone who watched.
Hamlin recovered and is now back with the Bills, but is not expected to play Sunday night.
