NFL Mock Draft: Bills Take LB in Round 2?
The Buffalo Bills are excited about their offensive outlook with the addition of Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid, and their defense could see some upgrades as the NFL Draft reaches its second day.
During free agency, the Bills lost standout linebacker Tremaine Edmunds as he signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Chicago Bears, so replacing him with a developmental player should be on Buffalo's to-do list.
In ESPN's second round mock draft, the Bills are slated to do just that by taking Washington State linebacker Daiyan Henley with the No. 57 overall pick.
"We have a third-round grade on Henley and Arkansas' Drew Sanders is still on the board, but I think that picking up Henley here is a good value and that he would fill a need for the Bills," ESPN writes.
Henley, 23, has a lot of experience under his belt at the college level, playing five seasons at Nevada before transferring to Washington State in 2022 for his COVID-year eligibility.
He showed some promise in 2021 with Nevada, recording 94 tackles and four interceptions for the Wolfpack. That momentum carried into this past season with Washington State, where he recorded 106 tackles (12 for loss), four sacks and an interception.
Henley's ability to get into the opposing backfield would be welcomed in Buffalo as the team tries to re-tool its front seven.
