Report: Broncos Try Out Kickers Elliott Fry, Parker White

Denver is holding auditions for its new placekicker.

The search for Brandon McManus' replacement appears to be a three-horse race — with an early frontrunner.

In addition to Brett Maher, the Denver Broncos on Wednesday worked out kickers Elliott Fry and Parker White, per beat writer Chris Tomasson, who reports a signing is not imminent "as they continue to assess options."

"Maher is getting a physical so he remains on Denver's radar," Tomasson noted.

Fry entered the league in 2017 as an undrafted free agent. He's been a practice-squad stash for multiple clubs but saw regular-season game action with the Atlanta Falcons (2020-21), Kansas City Chiefs (2021), and Cincinnati Bengals (2021).

All told, Fry has connected on five-of-six field goal attempts — his longest being 44 yards — and five-of-seven extra points.

White, interestingly enough, broke Fry's all-time leading scorer record at the University of South Carolina, finishing with 368 career points. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound specialist made 72-of-99 field goals and 152-of-154 extra points across five seasons for the Gamecocks.

White went undrafted last year and inked a reserve/futures deal with Green Bay following the 2022 campaign. The Packers waived him Monday.

Maher, whose tryout was reported minutes after McManus was released Tuesday, would seem to literally have a leg-up on the field due to a larger body of NFL work (94 career FGs) and his connection to Broncos head coach Sean Payton from their 2021 stint in New Orleans together.
