Report: Broncos Sign K Elliott Fry
The search for Brandon McManus' replacement has drawn to a close.
Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Denver Broncos on Wednesday signed kicker Elliott Fry, who was among three finalists for the job, having worked out last week.
9NEWS' Mike Klis reports that Fry inked a one-year contract. Additional terms of the deal are not yet known.
Fry, 28, entered the NFL in 2017 as an undrafted free agent. He's been a practice-squad stash for multiple clubs but saw regular-season action with the Atlanta Falcons (2020-21), Kansas City Chiefs (2021), and Cincinnati Bengals (2021). He, too, spent the 2022 preseason with the Jacksonville Jaguars and signed a reserve/futures pact with the Arizona Cardinals in January (released May 15).
All told, Fry has connected on five-of-six field goal attempts — his longest being 44 yards — and five-of-seven extra points.
Fry played collegiately at South Carolina and held the Gamecocks' all-time leading scorer record with 359 points — a record that was broken by Parker White, who also tried out for the Broncos.
Barring another addition, Fry will succeed McManus as Denver's primary placekicker. McManus was released on May 23 following nine years with the organization, and has since landed a one-year contract from the Jaguars.
