NFL Network Lists Buccaneers' Antoine Winfield Jr. as Top Pro Bowl Snub

Antoine Winfield Jr. is one of the league's most surprising Pro Bowl snub as he's been incredible for the Buccaneers this season.

With the NFL season soon coming to a close, the Pro Bowl rosters have been released. On the NFC defensive selections, though, Tampa Bay Buccaneers star safety Antoine Winfield Jr. was snubbed.

Instead, Jessie Bates, Budda Baker, and Julian Love were the three NFC safeties to be selected to the Pro Bowl. On paper, it's hard to argue each of their cases over Winfield.

Winfield has 117 tackles, five tackles for loss, five sacks, seven quarterback hits, five forced fumbles with four recoveries, three interceptions, and 12 pass deflections. His numbers jump off the page compared to the others, and he visually is a playmaker, standing out to anyone who watches the Buccaneers.

NFL Network listed their top snubs to the Pro Bowl across the league and, of course, Winfield was listed as the league's top snub.

"Anyone who's watched more than one Bucs game surely noticed the playmaker wearing No. 31 flying around the ball, wreaking havoc, and generally destroying offensive game plans," Kevin Patra of the NFL Network wrote. "So at first perusal of the NFC roster, I was certain I simply missed Winfield's name. Nope. He's not on the list."

The 25-year-old safety continues to improve every season and, statistically, should be in the Pro Bowl. His exclusion is brutal because he was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2021 with stats that don't compare to his current season. Of course, the team was much better than as a whole.

"No offense to the three NFC safeties selected -- all are good players in their own right -- but it's stunning to me Winfield continues to be overlooked after the masterful season he's compiled," Patra continued.

To make matters more weird, Winfield could easily be in the running to be an All-Pro when the season comes to a close.
