Super Bowl Winning Tampa Bay Buccaneers Lineman Headed to New York Giants
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have done — and typically do — a good job of keeping as much in-house talent in place as possible.
Future Buccaneers Ring of Honor and Pro Football Hall of Fame receiver Mike Evans has a new contract, as does quarterback Baker Mayfield. Safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is currently franchise tagged, and the always-underrated linebacker Lavonte David is returning as well.
Buccaneers Re-Sign Former Super Bowl Champion Quarterback
Unfortunately, because as much as we say the salary cap is fake, it actually does exist and Tampa Bay can't retain everyone.
Nick Leverett is on his way from the Bucs offensive line to the New England Patriots, and now Aaron Stinnie is also on his way out as he heads to the New York Giants.
Like Fowler said, Stinnie started 11 games for the Buccaneers in 2023 and started one in 2021.
Most notably, he started three games in the Super Bowl run that brought Tampa Bay its second Lombardi Trophy in 2020.
In 2022, Stinnie was expected to compete for a starting job before a season-ending knee injury ended that opportunity in the preseason.
He appeared in one game with the Tennessee Titans in 2018 and three in 2019 before joining the Bucs on a waiver claim that November.
With yet another departure, the Buccaneers will continue to look for opportunities to rebuild their offensive line since suffering the losses of guard Ali Marpet and center Ryan Jensen, both of whom are now retired.
