Marquise Brown Believes Kyler Murray Set for Major Bounceback Season
There are many questions surrounding the Arizona Cardinals heading into 2023, yet none are bigger than the status of quarterback Kyler Murray.
All eyes are on the former No. 1 pick as he looks to complete recovery from a torn ACL suffered late last season. Murray has made significant progress towards returning to action but still could sit a few weeks - he was placed on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list ahead of training camp and is projected to miss an unknown amount of time to begin the regular season.
Murray will return at some point - but there will still be questions after his cleats touch grass for the first time. Overcoming physical and mental limitations while operating in a new system - under a first-time offensive coordinator - without top weapon in DeAndre Hopkins - is something everybody in and outside the desert will be watching.
His new top target (and college teammate, and best friend) Marquise Brown believes he'll bounce back in a major way:
Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson is often used as a measuring stick for ACL recovery - he returned in eight points and rushed for over 2,000 yards and won MVP that year.
It's highly unrealistic to expect Murray to come close to that stratosphere of success in 2023, though it serves as a good reminder that not every career is ruined after injury.
Brown also spoke about Murray in a recent interview after camp practice, which you can watch here.
