Netflix recently debuted a new documentary on the career of former star quarterback Johnny Manziel, and Arizona Cardinals fans will recognize a familiar face in the 70 minute story.

Former Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury - who coached Manziel during his Heisman season at Texas A&M - was a recurring talking head in Netflix's new Untold: Johnny Football piece.

Kingsbury appears early on discussing his experience with Manziel in the lone year he spent at College Station as Texas A&M's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

"They hired Kevin Sumlin, and he had an offensive coordinator by the name of Kliff Kingsbury. He had this wide-open, high-flying offense," TexAgs editor Billy Liucci said.

The scene then flashes to a young Kingsbury asked about how his air-raid attack would fare in the SEC, which Texas A&M played in for the first time during the 2012 season.

Reporter: "How does this offense translate going against SEC defenses?"

Kingsbury: "Hell, we'll find out. We'll find out."

Before the first game of the season, Manziel had gotten into a bar fight:

Liucci: "Johnny got into some trouble, but I remember Kliff Kingsbury telling me, 'You know that's the guy, right? No matter what.'"

Kingsbury then said, "When he got in line - in fall camp - it was like a different human. It was like 'Alright, y'all about to see why.'"

The Aggies began their 2012 campaign with a loss but eventually got their act together, piecing together wins and having one of their most successful seasons in memory after finishing with an 11-2 record.

"As everything was blowing up, he just rolled with it. So we're going to Mississippi State on Friday, Friday morning we see these pictures where he's in this Scooby Doo outfit and you can tell he's obviously had a couple cocktails," Kingsbury said.

For reference:

"He rolls out there hungover, goes through the walkthrough - he's pouring sweat at the walkthrough. I just look at him and say you better f------ play good. … He played one of the best games he ever played, and for the rest of the season, I was putting the ball in his hands."

Kingsbury offered more comments through Manziel's short career in college, mostly discussing how everybody was making money from his name and jersey sales besides him. Kingsbury left for Texas Tech the next season to become their head coach.

The most memorable of his comments towards Manziel once he arrived to the NFL as a first-round pick that really stuck out were, "What it takes to be the face of the franchise every single day, that's just not who he is," said Kingsbury.

"He never put that much into it. If he wanted to do it with his skill set and how good he is as a player, he could have done it. He just never worked at it."

The documentary briefly touches on Manziel's time as a pro but didn't offer much substance towards the end.
