PHOENIX -- On the outside, it feels like the Arizona Cardinals haven't gained many wins during the free agency period.

It wasn't long ago fans were debating on whether the team should prioritize DE Zach Allen or CB Byron Murphy. That was two weeks ago - and now the Cardinals are without their top two free agents.

Waving DE J.J. Watt into retirement and the pending loss of WR DeAndre Hopkins haven't exactly instilled hope into a fanbase that will be charged more money for season tickets than the previous year, when they went 4-13.

Hope isn't synonymous with the Cardinals at the moment - don't tell that to head coach Jonathan Gannon.

"You don't win any games in free agency, I know that," he told reporters at the league's annual meeting.

"So I feel really good about the pieces that we added. We had a very clear vision of why we added them. We know why they know why they're coming here, which is huge to me. They know their role and what we're going to ask them to do and how we're going to ask them to fit in. I'm excited to get to work with those guys."
