Three Standouts From Cardinals Preseason Finale
The Arizona Cardinals closed out their preseason with an 18-17 win in Minneapolis against the Minnesota Vikings.
No starters for either team competed in this Saturday afternoon matinee, which gave ample opportunity for players fighting to make the final roster.
There were several players who stood out in this gritty win, but three in particular stood out above the rest:
Kyle Soelle
The Scottsdale native and Arizona State alum was signed by the Cardinals as an undrafted free-agent this spring. He has thoroughly impressed the team with his leadership, IQ, and sneaky athleticism throughout the offseason. The linebacker finished the contest with five tackles, two of them being solo and showed some impressive instincts on top of that.
Davion Davis
The 26-year old journeyman with one catch in his NFL career had possibly the most impressive play of the day. The Sam Houston State product snatched a contested 26-yard touchdown in tight coverage that gave the Cardinals life in a game they eventually won.
He finished with three receptions for 43 yards.
Zach McCloud
The 25-year old former Tennessee Titan was signed by the Cardinals last week and likely had the best performance of anyone on the field Saturday. Six tackles and three sacks later - McCloud has potentially at least secured a spot on the Cardinals’ practice squad at the very least.
