Former Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson Signs With Steelers
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Cardinals haven't seen any traction on the first day of free agency, but one of their former players certainly has.
Patrick Peterson is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Peterson (32-years-old) was first drafted by the Cardinals with the No. 5 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft out of LSU after a decorated career with the Tigers.
Peterson played in Arizona for ten seasons, emerging as one of the league's lockdown corners and earning accolades such as two first-team All-Pro (2013, 2015) and making the NFL 2010 All-Decade Team.
He also has eight Pro Bowl appearances.
Peterson joined the Minnesota Vikings in 2021 and played there for two seasons after he said former Cardinals GM Steve Keim ghosted him after hitting free agency.
Since then, Peterson has been highly critical of the organization and specifically Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. Peterson played Arizona in both seasons he spent with the Vikings.
Now, he joins a Steelers team that has yet to have a losing season under current head coach Mike Tomlin. Pittsburgh hopes to contend under second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett.
Peterson said he wasn't expecting to land in Pittsburgh. He'll be replacing Cam Sutton, who signed a three-year deal with the Detroit Lions earlier today.
