Cardinals Sign OL Jackson Barton
The Arizona Cardinals have signed their 13th free agent of the 2023 offseason under new general manager Monti Ossenfort.
On Friday, the Cardinals officially signed offensive lineman Jackson Barton to a one-year deal.
ESPN's Field Yates reported earlier last week that Barton was hosted by Arizona on a free-agent visit.
Barton was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL draft. He was waived in his rookie season and would then sign with Kansas City Chiefs, where he received a Super Bowl ring. The Chiefs waived Barton before the 2020 season and the New York Giants would claim him off waivers.
In 2021, the Giants waived Barton and the Las Vegas Raiders claimed him off waivers. He played his first two career games that season and appeared in six offensive snaps. Last season, Barton saw action in six games and played one offensive snap and 21 special-team snaps.
Barton has familiarity with Cardinals offensive line coach Klayton Adams, who coached the 27-year-old in his rookie year with the Colts.
The Utah product Barton was a part of the 2018 All-Pac-12 Conference Football Team. He played in 53 games with 29 starts at tackle.
He'll join the 90-man offseason roster with the Cardinals.
Arizona will begin its first voluntary veteran minicamp on April 25.
