DeAndre Hopkins Speaks After Signing With Titans
Former Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins has officially signed with the Tennessee Titans.
"I feel real good - blessed. Thankful to be here. Thank you Nashville, thank you Tennessee. Let's get to work," said Hopkins.
The deal is reportedly a two-year, $26 million deal that can be worth up to $32 million with incentives. The 31-year-old receiver now lands in an offense that will feature his as their WR1 opposite of rising pass-catcher Treylon Burks.
It's been a long offseason for Hopkins and the Cardinals, who worked tirelessly for a potential trade partner throughout the months of down time in the league only for him to be released ahead of June 1, which ultimately cleared Arizona of any cap liability in 2024.
There were plenty of interested teams looking to sign Hopkins - though he only took physical visits with the Titans and New England Patriots. Salary ended up being the top priority for Hopkins after the All-Pro passed up on teams such as the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills.
There's hope the Titans can maximize the most of Hopkins' talents in a year where they're pushing all in on the offensive side of the ball with Derrick Henry still capable of contributing.
In Arizona, Marquise Brown will step into Hopkins' role as WR1 while names such as Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch, Zach Pascal and Michael Wilson will fight for the roles under him.
