Charger Wideouts Sense Major Shifts Coming for LA Offense
New offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was brought in this offseason to help make sure that the Los Angeles Chargers offense didn’t have any of the weird lapses they suffered from last season. At times, the Bolts would go on long-scoring droughts, ultimately costing them in the postseason.
So, a change was made to help this team try and live up to their potential. With Moore, the Bolts are getting an experienced playcaller due to his time with the Dallas Cowboys.
He helped make Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott look excellent in their system, so the limits are endless with star Justin Herbert under center. Herbert’s ability to sling the ball all over the field at an efficient rate should only allow Moore to have an easier job.
The team is likely to play with a more aggressive attitude than in previous seasons, and it has already caught the attention of the wide receivers. Veteran Keenan Allen spoke on this change.
“There’s not a lot of times where everybody on the field is running short routes,” Allen said, “versus Lombardi, where everybody’s running short routes. Now, somebody has an opportunity every time.”

This should help open up things for this offense with all the weapons they possess on the offensive side of the ball. Having Herbert spread the ball around the field should also limit turnovers as well.
Receiver Joshua Palmer is excited for his chance to really open things up this season.
“You can see it,” Palmer said. “You can feel it. We’ve got the guys to do it. We all see the explosive plays on social media that they’re posting [during training camp]. That’s one of the things we’re going to do.”

The Chargers were a strong team on offense last year, but Moore is here to take them to the next level. If he can do that, the Chargers could very well be competing for the Super Bowl this coming season.
The time is now for them to take advantage of everything that is in front of them.
