Chargers News: Defensive and Offensive Players Assess Kellen Moore's Dynamic Offensive Tactics
The Los Angeles Chargers knew they needed a breath of fresh air and excitement on the offensive side of the ball. The front office wasted no time as soon as offensive coordinator Kellen Moore became available. LA snagged him up immediately, and so far, he has seemed to bring new life to the offense.
Players love what Moore has brought to the team so far, including Chargers star wideout Mike Williams. Williams spoke to Chargers insider Lindsey Thiry and discussed the dynamic Moore brings to the offense.
“He’s young, knows how to get us the ball and how to move us all around, getting everyone involved,” receiver
Mike Williams
said about Moore. “That’s the main thing -- defense is sometimes keying in on certain players so you’ve got to adjust, and he does a good job of putting us in certain spots so the defense can’t key on us.”

Moore is set to transcend its offense alongside Williams, Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler, and Justin Herbert. We've heard all the chatter from the offensive guys over the past few months, but even the defensive guys are impressed with Moore's offense, including defensive lineman Morgan Fox.
Fox is in awe of how his team's offense looks under the 35-year-old coordinator.
“They do a lot of stuff that messes with certain rules and they move around a lot,” defensive lineman
Morgan Fox
explained. “They let [quarterback
Justin] Herbert
throw ... and do what they do and get the running backs open, get them moving. They have great run-game mechanics. It's been a challenge every day.”

That run game that Fix mentioned is a big reason why LA brought in Moore. He helped lead the Dallas Cowboys to the number seven rushing offense with 126.6 yards per game in four seasons as the OC in the Lone Star state.
The run game will be critical, and we should expect to see many more explosive plays that involve Willaims, Allen, rookie Quentin Johnston, and the rest of the explosive receivers on the depth chart.
We'll see how it looks come Week 1.
