Chargers News: Kellen Moore Previews Week 1 Clash Against Formidable Dolphins Defense
As the Los Angeles Chargers get ready to kick off their new season against the Miami Dolphins, new offensive coordinator is ready to make his mark on this team. He was brought in to help elevate them to the next level this year, and he has a good test ahead of him this weekend.
The Dolphins' defense is led by former head coach Vic Fangio, who will bring everything he has to the table on Sunday. Fangio is one of the best defensive minds the NFL has to offer, so the Bolts' offense will be tested.
With the new season, nobody is sure to know what each team will look like. The Chargers offense is very good, but the Dolphins' defense does have some playmakers on it. So Moore is doing his homework on Fangio to ensure the team is ready for whatever they throw at them.
"Certainly, it's challenging," Moore said. "A lot of times early seasons you tend to have one or two of these in a season and certainly this one will be a huge challenge because its one of the best defensive coaches in the entire game. You're watching Miami, you're watching old Denver, going back to Chicago, whatever you need to do.”

The Chargers will need to disguise some things on offense and not get reliant on their passing game. They need to be multi-dimensional in this matchup; otherwise, Fangio will draw up schemes to shut them down. Moore just wants to be prepared, even if he has faced Fangio previously.
"There's an element of projecting, that's what happens at the beginning of the season," Moore added. "It's a little bit of an unknown. Even if you played someone who's been somewhere for 10 years, there's still an element that something may change."

Both Miami and the Chargers are expected to be in contention for the playoffs again this season, so today's matchup will likely have some playoff ramifications within it. Both sides will want to make an early statement, so it should be a fun game all around.
