Entering the 2023 offseason, the Los Angeles Chargers had one main plan in mind, and that was to upgrade their offense which became stagnant at times last season. They brought in a new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to help with that, and they believe that the issues that hurt them last year are a thing of the past.

Moore believes in flexibility along the offense, giving the team the best possible chance to succeed. With the talent on the roster, there is no reason why the Chargers can't be a top unit once again. But it's also one new player that the team added that could help take this team over the top. That is their first-round pick Quentin Johnston from TCU

The rookie wide receiver was special in college and has landed in the top-10 odds from Ceasars SportsBook to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Vegas seems to be high on the kid, and rightfully so. He is an elite route runner with great hands.

Johnston has the ability to throw off his defenders with his start-stop motions, allowing him to create space in the open field. He also is a very physical wide receiver, which allows him to get extra yards after the catch. Johnston is going to be a favorite weapon for quarterback Justin Herbert early on.

With his ability to sling the ball all over the field, Herbert and Johnston will likely hook up on passes a ton. The Chargers also have Keenan Allen and Mike Williams for defenses to worry about, so Johnston may be the benefactor of a lot of plays. Teams can't guard every single receiver that the Chargers have, and LA seems to have gone toward the three-receiver set this offseason.

Johnston is in line for a big season with LA, and he could very well be on his way to winning the award. It'll be tough with all the talented rookies in the league, but the fact that he is on the list means that Vegas knows something.
