There was a reason why the Chargers made the switch from Joe Lombardi to Kellen Moore as the offensive coordinator this offseason. The Chargers held one of the better overall offenses last season, but at times, they became stagnant. And that is what ultimately killed their season.

Only three teams were better at scoring in the first half than the Chargers last year, but it didn't amount to LA always winning. LA averaged 15.2 points per game in the first half, but after halftime, things went south for them quickly. In the second half, the Bolts only averaged eight points, putting them toward the bottom of the league.

There is no reason as to why a team that boasts such star power should be so bad at making adjustments. But that was the 2022 Chargers. The biggest example came in the team's Wild Card playoff loss as they blew a 27-point lead to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Entering halftime, the Chargers were up by a score of 27-7, but when the final whistle sounded, it was Jacksonville celebrating to the tune of a 31-30 victory.

As the team gets ready for the new 2023 season, the hope is that the change in offensive schemes with Moore will help alleviate those issues. If the Chargers can rid themselves of their second-half scoring issues, they could end up being one of the more elite teams this season.
