Deion Avoiding Foot Amputation, ‘Rocks Steady’ with Celeb Girlfriend

NFL legend Deion Sanders is out of surgery and using social media to show love to Tracey Edmonds with a smooth message to his better half. "Let's Rock Steady Baby," he writes.
In this story:

Legendary NFL cornerback Deion Sanders has been talking bravely but frankly about the blood flow problems in his legs that have required a series of surgeries, recently involving his groin but also raising the possibility of the amputation of his left foot.

But “Prime Time,” who starred with the Dallas Cowboys and later played for Washington in a career that spanned the 1990s and 2000s, is also revealing another critical part in his medical fight.

Girlfriend Tracey Edmonds, a Hollywood celebrity in her own right, has been active on social media, asking for prayers and sharing updates on the condition of Sanders, 55.

And now Sanders is using social media to return the favor to Edmonds with a smooth message to his better half. "Let's Rock Steady Baby," he wrote.

The problems for Deion in his legs have meant undergoing surgical procedures that include having to have his big toe and his second toe amputated because of blood clots that run down his leg, from the top of his calf to his foot.

Doctors working with the University of Colorado, where “Coach Prime” is in his first season in charge, have talked of the severity of his issues.

“You just have to understand what the risks are,” vascular surgeon Donald Jacobs told Sanders during an interview. “Things can cascade.”

Jacobs also informed the Colorado athletic training staff that Sanders, 55, "could lose the foot.”

Sanders, who recently downplayed that idea, is considered the greatest cornerback of all-time. He went into coaching a few years ago, first at Jackson State and now at Colorado, all along routinely dealing with pain while often moving about on a scooter.

The colorful Sanders won Super Bowls as a player with Dallas and San Francisco and was with Washington in 2000. He has “lived a life,” as has Edmonds; she’s a Stanford graduate, a successful TV and film producer and on-camera star who was previously involved in relationships with Babyface and Eddie Murphy.

But she’s been “ride or die” (Deion’s words) for quite some time … and now Tracey and Deion plan to continue their loving ride.
