NFL Fantasy Draft: Where's Commanders WR Terry McLaurin?

Washington Commanders players Terry McLaurin, Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, Montez Sweat, Kendall Fuller, and Kamren Curl were all selected in an NFL.com fantasy draft. But did any make their way back home?

The Washington Commanders are about to hit reset in terms of franchise management with the sale of the team coming in a matter of weeks it would seem.

What if the Commanders could reset their roster as well?

In what is becoming an annual exercise by NFL.com the league’s media site adopted a fantasy draft format to reset all 32 rosters.

And the first player selected from Washington’s current roster was star receiver Terry McLaurin with the No. 69 pick overall.

“McLaurin is another under appreciated outside playmaker who is a bargain here,” said NFL.com while sending him to the Denver Broncos in the third round of its mock draft.

A third round selection isn’t new to McLaurin’s football life as he was drafted seven picks later in his real NFL Draft in 2019.

In this scenario he joined quarterback Aaron Rodgers and defensive end Joey Bosa with the Broncos.

Meanwhile, with their first three picks in this fantasy draft the Commanders selected defensive end Myles Garrett, receiver CeeDee Lamb, and quarterback Kenny Pickett.

Washington defensive tackle Jonathan Allen was a fourth-round pick at No. 123 to the Los Angeles Rams while running mate Daron Payne heads to the same city but to the Chargers in the sixth round at No. 171.

Projected starting quarterback Sam Howell wasn’t selected, and neither was veteran Jacoby Brissett.

Defensive end Chase Young was also undrafted while Montez Sweat was the highest Commanders defender selected at No. 91 in the third round by the Dallas Cowboys.

In total, five of Washington defensive players were selected with cornerback Kendall Fuller (No. 210, Detroit Lions) and safety Kamren Curl (No. 197, Denver) joining the list of top 224 players in the NFL.

Of course, this isn’t a true 1-224 ranking of current players, but it’s an interesting way of diving into the league’s best and seeing how it turned out.
