Dan Snyder Flip-Flop: Commanders Owner Now Refusing to Sell?

Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder's legal issues has caused an outcry by fans for Snyder to sell the team and separate himself from it, although he's resisted.
In this story:

Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder has been a polarizing figure from the moment he purchased the historic football franchise back in 1999.

And in recent years, he's taken that to the next level with allegations of improper conduct in the workplace and hiding team income from the league and his fellow owners.

All of that has caused an outcry by fans for Snyder to sell the team and separate himself from it, although he's resisted.

When the finally announced he was exploring the possibility of finally selling the team, most didn't believe it, seeing it as more of an effort to buy more time while his legal situation plays itself out.

And now, those people may be vindicated.

Just one day after the Washington Post reported that Amazon frontman Jeff Bezos hired an investment firm to look into a purchase of the organization, the New York Post published a piece saying Snyder may not be selling after all.

It’s not the headline. But it’s the unmistakable conclusion of the new report claiming that the top bids to buy the team fell “far short” of a $6 billion cutoff and that Bezos has been “benched” from bidding on the team by Snyder.

The article continues, saying Snyder may decide now to keep the team since he didn't get an offer anywhere near what he wants.

“He’s an ass and he may not want to give it up,” an unnamed source “closely watching the sale...” told the New York Post.

How much does Snyder want?

In December, Forbes magazine reported that Snyder had multiple bids of over $7 billion, but the Washington Post noted around the same time the highest bid came in at around $6.3 billion.

Now, it appears the New York Post indicates the top bid fell "far short" of $6 billion.

The purpose? Now Snyder can claim he attempted to sell the team, but just didn't get bids anywhere close to what the team is worth, and put that issue to bed.

The losers are the fanbase that wants Snyder out.
