'I'm the Most Dominant!' Commanders Host O'Cyrus Torrence for Draft Visit

With the 2023 NFL Draft exactly three weeks away, the Washington Commanders are starting to hit the home stretch of the process.

All-star games, the NFL Combine and pro days are in the rearview mirror, and focus is shifting towards pre-draft visits ... of which the Commanders are holding one Thursday with a premiere offensive lineman.

Per NFL Network, Florida offensive guard O'Cyrus Torrence is visiting the Commanders - just one day after meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

And what does Torrence think of his NFL prospects?

“I’m the most dominant interior offensive lineman in the draft, and I feel like any team that gets me will get a Day One starter and someone who is ready to play,” Torrence said recently via NFL Media. “Somebody who is going to take it like a pro and give it all you got.”

Washington was recently linked to Torrence at No. 16 overall in an NFL Network mock draft and would presumably slide into the starting right guard position, forcing Sam Cosmi into a backup slot.

The 6-5, 330-pound Torrence was a three-year starter at Louisiana-Lafayette before following coach Billy Napier to Florida last offseason.

In Gainesville, Torrence became the first offensive guard and 34th overall player to earn consensus first-team All-American honors in program history.

Arguably the draft's top true interior offensive lineman, Torrence is viewed as a potential late first-round pick who could rise into the teens, making him a potential option for the Commanders at No. 16.

Here's Sports Illustrated's scouting report synopsis on the Greensburg, La., native ...

"A hefty lineman that holds down the interior, Torrence can create holes in the run game while simultaneously maintaining pocket depth as a protector," SI writes.

The Commanders averaged 126 rushing yards per game this past season, good enough to rank No. 12 league wide, while allowing the seventh-most sacks at 47.

Torrence, who was dominant in the SEC, could slide into a starting role from Day 1 - and if Thursday's visit went well, may find himself off the board at No. 16 overall.
