Commanders Should 'Avoid' Florida OL O'Cyrus Torrence in Round 1

O'Cyrus Torrence is one of the best interior offensive linemen in the draft. So why should the Washington Commanders avoid taking him?
In this story:

The Washington Commanders are days away from welcoming their new draft class, and each member should provide hope for the future.

While not every prospect will turn out to be a Hall-of-Famer, there are specific players worth looking into and others to pass along.

Bleacher Report identified one prospect for each team to avoid in this year's draft and selected Florida offensive lineman O'Cyrus Torrence for the Commanders.

"With needs on both sides of the ball, the Commanders will have a bevvy of choices when they are on the clock. One they will want to avoid is misusing their draft capital to reach for a prospect at a non-premium position," Bleacher Report writes. "While O'Cyrus Torrence could be the top interior offensive lineman in this class when all is said and done, it will be difficult for him to provide as much value for the Commanders as a pick like Joey Porter Jr."

Torrence is a strong prospect and fulfills a need for the Commanders on the interior offensive line, but he may not bring a ton of value with the No. 16 pick and likely won't be on the board when the Commanders are on the clock in the second round at No. 47.

Bleacher Report stresses the need for a cornerback, and the position should be quite popular in Round 1. There could be up to five or six cornerbacks selected in the first round and the Commanders would be wise to snatch the best one available with the No. 16 pick.
