Commanders Trade Rumors: Deal Both Montez Sweat, Chase Young?

Montez Sweat and Chase Young have been popular names in Washington Commanders trade rumors lately.
In this story:

There's a lot of trade chatter regarding Washington Commanders defensive ends Montez Sweat and Chase Young.

With Sweat playing on his fifth-year option in 2023 and Young's decision approaching for his own contract, there's a likelihood that one of them could be traded soon.

But Bleacher Report posed an idea to trade both of them in the same deal to the Seattle Seahawks.

"The defensive line has some glaring holes heading into the 2023 draft," Bleacher Report writes. "While Seattle could use one or even both of its two first-round picks to shore that area up, it could also swing for the fences by acquiring proven talent instead. The Washington Commanders would be a natural trade partner after they agreed to a long-term deal with the previously franchise-tagged Daron Payne. With Payne and Jonathan Allen now on big contracts, the team could find it difficult to hand out market-value deals to both Chase Young and Montez Sweat in the near future."

In the trade, the Commanders would receive a first, second and third-round pick for both Sweat and Young.

It's a pretty hefty price for three picks, but this would eliminate Washington's future contract issues. The Commanders have built this defensive line for years and the front office has a knack for finding talented pass rushers, but trading arguably both of your best potential options doesn't seem like a liable move.

Washington would almost certainly use at least one of its first-round picks on a replacement for Sweat and Young, but for a team looking to contend in 2023, the Commanders need both their top pass rushers.
