'We're The Best!' CeeDee Lamb Reveals Ranking, Chemistry with Cowboys QB Dak Prescott
The Dallas Cowboys’ offense struggled out of the gate, hitting the bye week at 4-2 with two bad losses to the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.
That Week 7 rest gave head coach Mike McCarthy the time to feature receiver CeeDee Lamb, who had three games with fewer than 55 yards in the early going. He had double-digit receptions just once before the bye.
In the remaining 11 regular season games, he caught 10+ passes six times and had a handful of monstrous performances. His back-to-back-to-back 150+ yard games out of the bye set the tone for the rest of his season. He would have three more 100-yard games down the stretch, including a 227-yard performance against the Detroit Lions.
In all, he finished with a league-best 135 receptions to go with 1,749 yards and 12 scores. Unsurprisingly, such a performance landed him in the Pro Bowl.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott made the all-star event but backed out to spend time with friends and family. Lamb spoke about his quarterback before the Pro Bowl kicked off.
“We’re here, we’re working hard, and we’re definitely one of the top duos, if not the best, quarterback-receiver duos in the league,” Lamb told SiriusXM.
Those comments might help Cowboys Nation understand that while some family members of Cowboys players have stirred things up on social media - see "Bro, Bro, Mama Drama'' - there is no apparent issue between the players themselves.
Prescott had arguably the best season of his career in 2023. He spent a good portion of the season on the MVP shortlist. Prescott finished with 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns, and nine interceptions and was named a Second-Team All-Pro.
“Up. It only going up, only going up,” Lamb said. “We put up great numbers last year but we’re definitely looking to improve on that.”
‘Dallas is Dallas’? Did Cowboys’ Micah Parsons Start Another ‘Beef’?
Lamb was similarly successful in the playoffs, catching nine passes for 110 yards. However, his production was too little, too late in a 48-32 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Once again, Dallas was sent back to the drawing board. With a duo as lethal as Prescott and Lamb, there’s reason to be optimistic for 2024.
“Take it with a grain of salt, man,” Lamb said. “Every loss isn’t a loss. I look at it as a lesson, and we understand what we gotta do in the playoffs. We gotta actually go do it.”
