Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks Due For 'Resurgence' Next Season?

Following a trade to the Dallas Cowboys, can wideout Brandin Cooks bounce back from a rocky 2022 campaign?

Sometimes a change of scenery is all a player needs.

Dallas Cowboys receiver Brandin Cooks, is jumping from a Houston Texans team that has the fewest amount of wins in the NFL over the past three years (11) to a Cowboys sqaud that won more games last season alone, finishing with a 12-5 record.

On this Dallas roster, Cooks will experience a major jump in quarterback play with Dak Prescott, causing CBS Sports to project that Cooks will be due for a resurgence this upcoming season.

"Cooks had his lowest amount of catches (57) and receiving yards (699) since his rookie season on a brutal Texans team in 2022," CBS Sports wrote. "And he was rewarded for his three years being criminally underrated in Houston by getting moved to the Cowboys, one of the major contenders in the NFC, this offseason."

Despite Cooks' proven ability to be a No. 1 option - posting 1,000 receiving yards in six career seasons - that might not necessary alongside a talented receiving duo of CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.

The move could not only benefit Cooks, who joins a contender, but also the Cowboys offense, which could have used an additional pass-catcher of his caliber last season.

"[Cooks] was still his usual beastly self in contested-catch scenarios, winning on more than 55 percent of them, an impressive number for any receiver and a monster figure for a wideout of his size," CBS Sports writes.

If Cooks can put up those kind of numbers on a Texans offense, a first-career Pro Bowl nod could be in his near future.
