Ohio State WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba: ‘Good Meeting' with Cowboys

The Cowboys will be looking to improve at the wide receiver position, and what better place to start than with one of the best in college football, and Dallas native, Ohio State's Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

The NFL Scouting Combine is in full swing in Indianapolis, Indiana as teams prepare for next month's NFL Draft.

One position group of particular interest for the Cowboys is wide receiver. After the trade that sent Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns, Dallas showed deficiencies at the position beyond new WR1 CeeDee Lamb

Dallas will be looking to improve at the position and what better place to start than one of the best in college football, and Dallas native, Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Smith-Njigba met with the Cowboys representatives in Indianapolis and indicated it was a 'good meeting' all the way around while addressing the media.

"Had a good meeting with them [Cowboys], happy I got an opportunity to meet with the coaching staff," said Smith-Njigba. "It would definitely be an awesome opportunity, being in that offense. I've been watching the Cowboys since growing up being from there and all, but it would be an awesome opportunity."

In three seasons at Ohio State, Smith-Njigba has 110 receptions in 23 games for 1,698 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also has returned 11 punts for 71 yards in that time.

The Cowboys have the 26th pick in the first round, and it's possible Smith-Njigba could still be available to them.

The NFL Draft takes place from April 27 to April 29 from Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri.
