Jets Plan at Cowboys: 'Get The Hell Outta Micah Parsons Way!’

The Dallas Cowboys showed they have one of the best fronts in the league. Micah Parsons is a big part of that and priority No. 1 for the New York Jets' offensive line.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons was, not surprisingly, one of the defense's many contributors in the pass-rush against the New York Giants in Week 1.

Now, Parsons gets a chance to tee off on — no, not Aaron Rodgers — New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson. Rodgers went down with a season-ending torn Achilles on the Jets' fourth offensive play of the season against the Buffalo Bills Monday.

On "Good Morning Football,” co-host Kyle Brandt detailed a plan for Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to put in place for Wilson, who had a QBR of 38.5 last season (50 is average), to avoid Parsons.

"Sprint [Wilson] out away from 11, bootleg away from 11, three-step, one-step, hand it off, hand it off," Brandt said. "Micah Parsons, I don't know if I saw a better player in the league last week and that includes Tyreek Hill. I think he's the No. 1 guy now."

"Get [Wilson] the hell out of the way, block and run away if you have to because [Parsons] won't just ruin your night, he could re-ruin your season on the road trip."

Now, that's not a bad plan. Just ask Giants quarterback Daniel Jones, who Parsons sacked once and knocked him over another.

Wilson was sacked twice for 13 yards with an offensive line that graded out at No. 23 in pass blocking, according to Pro Football Focus.

When in doubt, the Jets handed off to running back Breece Hall, who ran for 127 yards on 10 carries with his longest run going for 83 yards. Hall was on a bit of a pitch count recovering from a torn ACL in 2022 and was limited in practice this week, but Brandt said handing off to him could save Wilson and New York.

"We got to get a few miles down the road before we get trucked and T-boned by a Peterbilt," Brandt said, comparing Parsons to an 18-wheeler. "Get [Wilson] out of the way. Breece Hall looked like Eric Dickerson the other night. Hand it to him, none of this pitch count. That's out the window now."

The Cowboys will look to beat the Jets for the first time since 2007, snapping their active three-game losing streak.

Dallas hosts its home opener against New York as 9.5-point favorites at AT&T Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. game, and the game will be broadcast on CBS.
