Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles Game: Highest NFL Ratings of Year

Sunday's game between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles drew over 27 million viewers, the most of any NFL telecast this season.

The NFL seems to set new viewership records on a weekly basis, so leave it to the Dallas Cowboys to set the latest of said records.

The Cowboys have the nickname "America's Team" for a reason, and they proved why they hold that title on Sunday. According to Fox Sports PR, Dallas' road game against the Philadelphia Eagles drew in over 27.1 million viewers on Sunday, the most of any NFL telecast this season and the most of any telecast since Super Bowl 57 in February.

Per Sports Media Watch, the Cowboys also have the second highest-rated game of the season in their game against the New York Jets in Week 2. Every Cowboys game has had at least 19 million viewers this season, with the only exception being their Week 3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

It doesn't take a detective to see why Sunday's game drew in so many viewers. Dallas and Philadelphia are both massive markets and their teams are among the most popular in the NFL. Not to mention the fact that it's a huge rivalry game that has often decided the NFC East in recent years.

It also helps that Sunday's game turned out to be an instant classic. Both teams went back and forth throughout the entire game, making for a thrilling viewing experience. Dallas was inches away from winning the game at the end, but Philadelphia made a goal-line stand to squeak out the victory.

With the Cowboys hosting the New York Giants on Sunday, a matchup that drew in over 20 million viewers in Week 1, plenty of eyes will be on Dallas once again.
