Cowboys Hate! 49ers Fans Reveal Feelings at Super Bowl Week in Las Vegas

The Cowboys aren't playing in Super Bowl LVIII, but 49ers fans on hand to cheer on their team took an opportunity to let everyone know how they feel about America's Team.

The Cowboys aren't playing in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas on Sunday. But during Opening Night ceremonies at Allegiant Stadium on Monday night, you might not have known it.

San Francisco fans sitting in the stands for the festivities broke out in a "Cowboys suck" chant, rather than cheering on their team.

It's a bit understandable since the rivalry between Dallas and San Francisco goes back some 50-plus years.

At the same time ... Is it notable that the Cowboys are so "in the heads'' of the Niners Faithful that those fans would bother being anything but happy about their positive fate.

The two teams have met nine times in the playoffs, including six times in the NFC Championship. The Cowboys are 5-4 all-time and 4-2 against the 49ers in NFC title games.

But the 49ers have had more recent success, ousting the Cowboys from the postseason in back-to-back seasons in 2021 and 2022.

Both teams have suffered extended Super Bowl title droughts, with San Francisco last winning the title game in 1994 and the Cowboys last winning in 1995. But the 49ers have appeared in six NFC Championship games since their last Super Bowl win while Dallas has appeared in none.

With a win over the Chiefs on Sunday, the 49ers will match an NFL record with six Super Bowl wins alongside the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Cowboys have a total of five on record.

The anti-Cowboys chant seems weirdly-timed from 49ers fans given that their team is going up against the Chiefs on Sunday, but we suppose when you have feelings that strong against another team - or maybe a weird jealousy? - you take every opportunity to show them.
