Dallas Cowboys Take Over 1st Place in NFC East, Roll Philadelphia Eagles 33-13: Live Game Log

ARLINGTON - Since the Dallas Cowboys lost to the Eagles in Week 9, they've done everything they needed to do to bounce back. Winners of four in a row while scoring 40-plus points in three of those contests coming into "Sunday Night Football'' here at AT&T Stadium Dallas needed a win over Philadelphia if it has any hopes of securing an NFC East division title in 2023.

And a win the Cowboys got, in resounding fashion, yet another blowout in this building over Philly by a score of 33-13. And while there is a lot of football left to be played?

Dallas now has a 4-1 record in the division and Philly now has a 3-1 mark - so the Cowboys are suddenly owners of first place in the NFC East.

The Cowboys now boast a 15-game home winning streak - the longest such streak for Dallas since 18 in a row from 1979-1981 at the legendary Texas Stadium. How did this one unfold? Follow along for our chronological look!

This is also a matchup between two star quarterbacks and MVP candidates in Dallas' Dak Prescott and Philadelphia's Jalen Hurts.

“These are the moments we’ve prepared for, to be honest with you,” said Prescott, who this week had to do some prep without head coach Mike McCarthy (appendix surgery) on site. (McCarthy should be fine for Sunday.) “It’s not that we didn’t for all of those past games, but we understood that this is the stretch in the season when you look at the schedule that you have to be excited about.”

With the Nov. 5 win over the Cowboys, the Eagles enjoyed a two-game lead in the division. But San Francisco bumped that down to just one after handling the Eagles last week 42-19.

“You have to drag yourself through the mud in order to grow,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said. “It’s not comfortable, but it’s necessary. But then it’s about understanding why you’re here in the first place and having that confidence going into the next game.”

Cowboys Open Doors, Fans Charge Into AT&T Stadium: WATCH

A Philadelphia win would be a huge step toward a second consecutive NFC East title - something that hasn't happened in the division since the Eagles won four in a row from 2001-2004. A Cowboys win would even things up on the way to the sixth time in seven seasons that one of these two teams takes home the division crown.

“In the sense of trying to get home field, understanding our success through the past couple of years and how great it would be to play the postseason here at home, it's huge,” Prescott said. “It’s definitely a big game.”
