Dan Quinn: Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott is The 'Top of The Top'
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had an explosive game on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, completing 29 of 44 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns. However, in the opinion of the coaching staff, Prescott playing at an 'elite' level extends to more than just the Eagles' matchup that's now in the rear-view mirror.
Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer sees a difference and improvement in the play-making on offense for Dallas, and mentioned this week that Prescott is a huge influence in their building self-belief.
“There’s a confidence, there’s an ownership, there’s an elite decision-making that he’s making right now,” Schottenheimer said. “And ... our ability to play above the 2.3 (seconds after the snap) is maybe something we were missing early in the season.”
Over the past three weeks, Prescott has acquired a quarterback rating of 120.7, which is the best in the NFL since Week 6 of the season. This being said, in some regards he is has been siting quite comfortably at the top of the quarterback standings for a while.
Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn applauds Prescott for being a standout in comparison to the other talented quarterbacks in the league.
DQ Rare Take: Cowboys 'Want to Win For' Dak
“The first thing that jumps out is that he is an elite competitor,” Quinn said. “Like, elite. There are guys in our league that are excellent competitors — I mean, quite honestly, every person whose playing in this league is — but then just like most things, he’s the special forces of competitors. He’s at the top of the top.''
The 5-3 Cowboys hope to ride that "elite'' level of play this Sunday when the lowly 2-7 New York Giants visit AT&T Stadium in NFL Week 10.
