Ezekiel Elliott Vs. Latavius Murray? Cowboys Ex Skipped Over in Bills Visit

There they sit, four credentialed running backs - none more so that the Dallas Cowboys ex Elliott - as free agency has yet to produce new jobs for them.

But … The Buffalo Bills are taking a look.

Just not a look at Zeke.

The Bills signed former New England Patriots running back Damien Harris earlier this offseason and already retain a youthful James Cook headed into his second year.

But in the spirit of keeping Josh Allen out of harm's way as much as possible, you can never have too many impactful players in the backfield.

The Bills are continuing to prove that this is the mentality, as they visited with veteran journeyman running back Murray, per reports Wednesday from KPRC2 in Houston.

Could the Bills be looking to add Murray to the fold on potential cheap, one-year deal? Based on his career longevity and production last season, it'd be an interesting move for Buffalo to make.

Murray has seemed to have a noticeable impact nearly every season since being a sixth-round pick by the then-Oakland Raiders in 2013. Murray's latest stint saw him take the reins at running back late in the year for the Denver Broncos this past season, as he rushed 160 times for 703 yards and five touchdowns while appearing in 12 games.

Both the carry and rushing totals were his highest since 2017. After signing to Denver's active roster a day after standout running back Javonte Williams tore his ACL, Murray suddenly became the lead back when Melvin Gordon III was waived a month later.

The Bills could potentially be the sixth NFL team he's played on. And if the meeting went well, there's little stopping Buffalo from signing him to a team-friendly deal.

And among the issues apparently not blocking his way? The presence on the street of two-time NFL rushing champ Ezekiel Elliott, still waiting for that call.
