Philadelphia Eagles Finally Get First Win vs. Kansas City Chiefs Coach Andy Reid, Travis Kelce
It may have taken a drop on a sure-fire touchdown from Kansas City Chiefs receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, but the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the defending Super Bowl Champions 21-17, erasing a 10-point halftime deficit to move to 9-1 on the season.
The victory also marked the first time that the Eagles have been able to defeat former coach Andy Reid, and future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce, the younger brother of All-Pro Eagles center Jason Kelce.
Reid -- who led the Eagles from 1999-2012, and is the winningest coach in franchise history -- had been 4-0 in his previous games against his former team. Of course, the most notable of those came when the Chiefs defeated the Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.

What's more, the Eagles achieved the impossible with Monday evening's win, defeating a Reid-coached team that was coming off of their bye week. Between the Eagles and Chiefs, Reid's teams had previously been 21-3 after their bye week. Obviously, the Eagles also were on their bye in Week 10, which may have negated the advantage Reid-coached teams have typically had.
Meanwhile, this was the fourth meeting between the Kelce brothers at the NFL level, and the first time that Jason has come out on the winning end. Travis did have a second-quarter touchdown reception, but arguably the greatest pass-catching tight end in NFL history was largely held in check Monday, catching seven passes for 44 yards.
There's a very real chance that this is the final time the two brothers will face each other, with Jason, 36, having considered retirement the last few offseasons. Then again, perhaps the final game of Jason's career will come next February in Super Bowl LVIII. And it's entirely possible that will be a rematch with his brother Travis, former coach Reid and the Chiefs.
