Philadelphia Eagles' Haason Reddick Wreaking Havoc Again After Slow Start

Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick has recovered from a slow start and is once again a game-changer.

Haason Reddick had 39.5 sacks between the 2020 and 2022 seasons, including a career-high 16 in the final of those three campaigns, his first as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles

So it was rather jarring when the 29-year-old failed to record a sack in each of the first three games of the season for the Eagles, only totaling one combined tackle and quarterback hit in that trio of contests. Fortunately for the Eagles, they managed to open the season 3-0 despite the relative ineffectiveness of their top pass rusher. And in the four games since, Reddick has made up for lost time.

Reddick didn't record a sack in a 31-17 Week 7 win over the Miami Dolphins, but still managed to help slow down quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and one of the league's best offenses by recording four solo tackles, two of which were for a loss.

This followed up back-to-back multi-sack performances for Reddick, against the Los Angeles Rams and New York Jets, respectively. In the second of those two games, the Eagles suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of an undermanned Jets team. However, it was hardly because Reddick had a down game, as he recorded five combined tackles, three quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks and two tackles for a loss.

Over the last month, Reddick has re-emerged as one of the league's elite pass rushers. A Second-Team All-Pro selection a year ago, Reddick has 13 combined tackles, seven tackles for a loss, seven quarterback hits and 5.5 sacks to show for his last four games. Reddick hitting his stride has to be pretty scary for the rest of the league considering he's part of a pass rush that also includes Josh Sweat, Jordan Davis, Jalen Carter and Brandon Graham, among others.

After Reddick finished second in the NFL with 16 sacks in 2022, the three-year/$45 million contract that Howie Roseman signed him to looked like a bargain. In the last four games, it's again started to look like one of the most team-friendly pacts in the league.
