During a recent appearance on "The Green Light Podcast with Chris Long" former NFL general manager Mike Mayock provided insight on Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman.

Over the past few years, Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has emerged as one of the NFL's most prominent front office leaders, generating substantial discussion.

He played a vital role in constructing the Eagles team that secured their franchise's first-ever Super Bowl victory in 2017 and helped guide them back to the championship game last season.

Although the Eagles fell short against the Kansas City Chiefs in February, Roseman continues to enjoy widespread praise following the conclusion of the 2023 NFL Draft.

The media showered the general manager with extensive praise for his 2023 draft class, which, unfortunately, agitated certain individuals within the league.

Mike Mayock, the former Las Vegas Raiders general manager, shares a close acquaintance with Roseman from their time in the NFL. Recently, Mayock provided intriguing insights into Roseman's operational methods.

"Howie Roseman has got the rep of need or wanting to win every trade," Mayock said on an April 27 episode of the Green Light Podcast with Chris Long. "I live in Philly. I know Howie pretty damn well. I have a ton of respect for him. … To Howie's credit, I think he had a bit of a chip on his shoulder where he had to win every deal to show that he was a football guy. … I think Howie's grown into the role and is really good. … You have to be careful."

While Mayock's Philadelphia ties might introduce some bias, he is known for being straightforward. He would unlikely offer such high praise to Roseman if he didn't genuinely believe in his abilities. Many people around the league argue that Roseman is the best general manager in the entire NFL.

If Roseman's most recent draft class can live up to their sky-high expectations, he should remain one of the most well-regarded general managers in the NFL for the foreseeable future.
