Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts 'Stone-Cold' Competitive Edge Needed in Playoff Push
If the Philadelphia Eagles are going to escape their recent slump, Jalen Hurts will be a big reason why.
The Eagles have lost their last three games and haven't looked like the Super Bowl contender that played in the first half of the season, but Hurts has continued to play well in big moments.
"Hurts is a stone-cold competitor, and that shows up in pivotal game moments," ESPN writes. "He has a 53.5 QBR in the fourth quarter or overtime of one-score games this season, eighth-best in the league."
Unfortunately in Monday night's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the defense was unable to combat Drew Lock's drive that ended in a touchdown to rookie receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba with almost no time remaining. Hurts tried to rally the offense back out there, but an interception to safety Julian Love cost the Eagles the win.
Eagles' Recent Skid Tied to Jets' Futility
Despite Hurts' inability to pull out a win on Monday, it doesn't change the fact that he's one of the more clutch quarterbacks in the league and that he will be crucial to the Eagles in however they finish off this season.
Hurts and the Eagles are back in action on Monday against the New York Giants. Kickoff on Christmas Day is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET.
