Falcons DT Grady Jarrett 'Lucky' to Be Rookie Bijan Robinson's Teammate

Atlanta Falcons DT Jarrett says he's lucky to be a teammate of rookie Bijan Robinson.
In this story:

Atlanta Falcons star Grady Jarrett has seen a lot of rookies come and go in his tenure with the organization, but running back Bijan Robinson stands out as a star in the making.

"Being in the league now going on nine years, you just know when certain guys are a little different, and that's why the team went up to choose him and they saw something," Jarrett told the media this week.

Robinson has attracted the praise of plenty of coaches and teammates since being drafted No. 8 overall in 2023, especially after texting his offensive line on draft night. But winning the respect of someone who's been in Atlanta since 2015 shows the early impact he's made.

"Bijan's going to be a super special player and I'm glad to be his teammate," Jarrett said. "Certain dudes, you can see the way he moves (is) special."

I'm glad to be his teammate is one hell of a statement to make about a 21-year-old who got into town just a couple of months ago. It takes a remarkable player to earn such respect in such a window, but Robinson is that guy.

During his time at Texas, Robinson tallied 3,410 rushing yards, 805 receiving yards and 41 total touchdowns to lead the Longhorns. One of the most battle-tested backs in the nation, his stock continued to rise through the combine.

Luckily, he was still hanging around when the Falcons picked him up, and now Cordarrelle Patterson has some serious competition. Or at least Jarrett's praise certainly makes it seem that way.
