Mock Draft Monday: NFL Draft Bible Projects Massive Lineman to Jets in First Round
New York Jets’ general manager Joe Douglas and his staff have a number of key decisions to make this offseason, including what to do with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2023 National Football League Draft.
The latest first-round mock from NFL Draft Bible suggests the New York Jets will use their top selection on an offensive lineman when the three-day event commences in Kansas City on April 27.
NFL Draft Bible on FanNation has two tackles going off the board prior to the Jets’ selection.
In their latest projected scenario, the Atlanta Falcons would snag Northwestern bookend Peter Skoronski at No. 8 overall and the Philadelphia Eagles, after trading up with New Orleans, would take Ohio State’s Paris Johnson Jr. with the No. 10 selection.
The NFL Draft Bible projection has the other Ohio State tackle, Dawand Jones, going to the Jets three picks later.
13. New York Jets: OT Dawand Jones, Ohio State
"Size is astounding, length and mass that is visible from the nosebleeds. Naturally wide base that remains consistent throughout his pass set. Hand fighting is non-negotiable."

Jones, who was initially tabbed as a potential Day 2 draft pick by multiple scouting services, has been landing in the First Round in a number of recent mock exercises.
CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson mocked Jones to the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 21 while Pro Football Focus has the Ohio State product as the No. 31 overall prospect on its latest Big Board rankings.
With his massive frame and high-level collegiate playing experience, the 6-foot-8 behemoth could realistically wind up hearing his name called early on opening night.
Even with Sunday’s report about Duane Brown’s intention to return in 2023, the Jets may opt to reinforce their offensive line in the Draft according to comments from head coach Robert Saleh last week.
“The more the merrier,” said Jets head coach Robert Saleh during his Combine Week press conference. “You know how Joe [Douglas] and I feel in regards to our offensive and defensive lines. I joke about it, but Joe would have 52 offensive linemen on the roster and one quarterback if he could.”
