New York Jets' tight end C.J. Uzomah suffered an early exit from Sunday's non-conference game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The 30-year-old Uzomah went down on the Jets' second offensive snap from scrimmage. After running back Breece Hall was stopped for a one-yard loss on a 2nd-and-10 play, the injured tight end was seen on the turf holding his right knee with 11:44 remaining in the first quarter.

After being surrounded by medical personnel, Uzomah was helped off the field and appeared unable to put any weight on his right leg. He was subsequently carted to the locker-room.

Uzomah was initially deemed questionable to return by the Jets. The team later downgraded the tight end to OUT.

"CJ's dealing with an MCL. I'll get more [information] tomorrow," said Jets' head coach Robert Saleh following the 13-8 home loss.

In terms of available tight ends, the Jets also had Tyler Conklin and Jeremy Ruckert in uniform for the Week 13 home game.

Conklin made one catch for 14 yards in the first quarter. He was targeted nine times in the game, finishing with 35 yards on three receptions. Ruckert made one 12-yard grab.

Uzomah has made minimal contributions in the pass game this season, recording eight catches for 58 yards and one score. He is in the second season of a three-year contract he signed in 2022.
