Final Injury Report: Three Jets' Starters Cleared, Three RBs Questionable to Face Falcons
Three starters have been cleared for the New York Jets’ Week 13 home game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Offensive tackle Mekhi Becton, slot cornerback Michael Carter II and linebacker Quincy Williams do not hold designations on the final injury report prior to the December 3 matchup at MetLife Stadium. All three players were limited in practice at some point this past week.
After suffering a first-quarter ankle injury at Buffalo in Week 11, Becton missed his first game of the season on Black Friday against Miami. Fourth-round rookie Carter Warren has performed admirably at left tackle in Becton’s absence.
Carter II appears poised to return to game action after missing back-to-back AFC East battles due to a hamstring injury. The well-respected slot corner fully participated in practice on Thursday and Friday.
Williams landed on the injury report Thursday with a knee issue. After being limited for a day, the veteran linebacker returned to full participation on Friday.
All three running backs are amongst those Jets listed as questionable to play on Sunday. Starter Breece Hall was upgraded to full participation as he nurses a hamstring injury.
Veteran Dalvin Cook appeared on the injury report on Friday with a shoulder problem, but is expected to be available according to head coach Robert Saleh.
“Dalvin is going to pop up on the injury report dealing with an AC shoulder, but I think he should be fine,” said Saleh.
Meanwhile, fifth-round rookie Israel Abanikanda missed two straight practices due to an illness before returning in a limited capacity on Friday.
“Izzy s going to be limited today. He is starting to feel a little bit better,” said Saleh.
The Week 13 Injury Report headliner is none other than Aaron Rodgers. The Jets opened the 21-day activation window for the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback, who remains on Injured Reserve but practiced twice this week. Backup offensive lineman Wes Schweitzer and special teams ace Justin Hardee also re-joined practice in a limited capacity on Wednesday.
Schweitzer is a candidate to be activated off IR for Sunday's game, potentially earning a start at right guard.
Veteran offensive tackle Duane Brown is no longer on the injury report, meaning he should be good to go in Week 13.
The Jets (4-7) and the Falcons (5-6) will clash at 1:00 pm ET on December 3 in East Rutherford. The home team is looking to snap a four-game losing streak.
