Ex-Jets' Receiver Returning to AFC East Division
Former New York Jets' receiver Chosen Anderson is on his way back to the AFC East.
ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques reported that the Miami Dolphins have agreed to a deal with the veteran pass-catcher, who was formerly known as Robby Anderson.
The 6-foot-3 Anderson spent four seasons with the Jets after signing as an undrafted free agent out of Temple in 2016. The New Jersey-born receiver caught 207 passes for 3,059 yards and 20 touchdowns in 62 games with Gang Green.
Anderson appeared to have a strong rapport with former Jets' quarterback Sam Darnold. He averaged 15.0 yards per catch and saw 190 total targets over his two seasons playing with the former USC Trojan in New York.
Leaving in free agency, Anderson inked a lucrative two-year contract with the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and proceeded to post a 1,000-yard receiving season.
After signing an extension, Anderson's performance dropped off in 2021. Then, he clashed with the Panthers' coaching staff this past season. Carolina dealt him to the Arizona Cardinals following a Week 6 in-game incident on the sidelines.
Set to turn 30 years old next month, Anderson heads to Miami for a chance to fit in on Mike McDaniel's offense. The former Temple Owl, who has been clocked at 4.36s in the 40-yard dash, adds more speed to a Dolphins' receiving corps that already features Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
Miami, who added Braxton Berrios following his release from the Jets, lost its WR3 from 2022 as Trent Sherfield signed with the Buffalo Bills.
