The New York Jets hosted one more training camp practice in Florham Park on Tuesday before departing for Carolina.

Gang Green will engage in joint practices with the Panthers on Wednesday and Thursday (Aug. 9 -10) at Wofford College ahead Saturday's preseason game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.

"Continue to build on things," said head coach Robert Saleh on the mission ahead. "For all three phases, you’re going against a different human."

The third-year head coach sees the visit to Carolina as a beneficial opportunity for his squad.

"I’m a big fan of the scrimmages because you get to work against new schemes. You get to work against new verbiage," said Saleh after Sunday's practice. "You get to work against different humans, obviously in a respectful way, but you go in there, you compete under a controlled environment."

Second-year safety Tony Adams, who is in contention for a starting spot this summer, is looking forward to the change of scenery.

"In training camp, it gets kind of repetitive. You're going against the same guys everyday," said Adams after Tuesday's practice. "So, we're going down to Carolina today. We're looking to go down and compete our butts off."

Veteran linebacker C.J. Mosley knows what to expect from the competitive practice setting.

"I'm excited to face another offense. It is a practice, but it's gonna feel like a scrimmage," said Mosley. "Being part of these joint practices before, at the end of the day, after practice was over it felt like a game."

It'll also serve as a litmus test, showing how far along the defense is at this point in the preseason.

"It's going to be a chance for our ones to go against somebody else's ones. It's going to be an early test for us as a whole unit to really see where we are, where we stand on communication," said Mosley, who enters his ninth NFL season.

Before leaving New Jersey, the Jets announced multiple roster moves.

The Green & White signed defensive end Pita Taumoepenu and defensive tackle Bruce Hector while releasing defensive tackle Isaiah Mack.

Later in the day, the Jets acquired offensive tackle Grant Hermanns off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and designated offensive lineman Yodny Cajuste as waived/injured.

In a positive development, all three players who left Sunday's practice due to injury returned to action on Tuesday. Left guard Laken Tomlinson, starting linebacker Quincy Williams and second-year edge rusher Jermaine Johnson were back to work two days after minor scares.

Leading receiver Garrett Wilson, who is dealing with the effects of an ankle inversion that he suffered late last month, was still sidelined Tuesday. He is expected back any day.

Edge rusher Carl Lawson missed a second straight practice, presumably due to the back tightness that kept him out on Sunday. Cornerback Bryce Hall, who tweaked his hamstring on Saturday, was also a non-participant.
