Jets Plummet in Sports Illustrated's NFL Power Rankings
The New York Jets were hovering within the top half of the list even after a Week 2 disappointment in Dallas, but a second straight dud has dropped the team 11 spots to a season low.
After a 15-10 home loss to the New England Patriots, the Jets fell to No. 24 overall in the weekly Sports Illustrated NFL Power Rankings. Robert Saleh's team was slotted eighth out of 32 teams following the season-opening win over the defending three-time AFC East champion Buffalo Bills. A 30-10 setback against the Cowboys pushed the Jets down to the No. 13 spot.
Their post-Week 3 status represents the lowest ranking amongst AFC East teams. The Patriots checked in at No. 22 overall while the Bills rose to the No. 4 slot. The Miami Dolphins headlined the list as the NFL's top team following their 70-point offensive explosion against Denver.
Paralleling their power ranking, the Jets' Super Bowl odds have crashed over the past two weeks. They opened the season at 16-to-1 to win it all. Last week, they fell to 45-to-1 before cratering out at +12500 (125:1) heading into Sunday's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. The odds are courtesy of SI Sportsbook.

24. New York Jets (1–2)
Last week: loss vs. New England, 15–10
Next week: vs. Kansas City
At this point, I think the only thing we could fault the Jets for in hindsight is not accounting for an Aaron Rodgers injury. This is not a fair finger for me to point personally, as I was all in on the idea of rehabbing Zach Wilson alongside Aaron Rodgers. While I’m about a week behind everyone else calling for Wilson’s dismissal, it is highly unlikely that the Jets can continue to sell Wilson as a starter on a week-to-week basis.
Point Spread Suggests Jets' Misery Will Continue vs. Chiefs
The reigning Super Bowl champion Chiefs will carry the No. 3 power ranking into MetLife Stadium this weekend.
The Jets opened the week as 9.5-point underdogs to the Chiefs. The Week 4 matchup will mark Gang Green's first Sunday Night Football appearance since 2011.
