The New York Jets are keeping some of their defensive front intact.

After losing free agent nose tackle Sheldon Rankins to the Houston Texans, Gang Green has reportedly re-signed Solomon Thomas.

The contract is for one year at $3.9 million according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

The 6-foot-2 Thomas, who entered the league as the San Francisco 49ers' No. 3 overall draft pick in 2017, has played 82 career games while totaling 155 tackles and 10.0 sacks.

Jets' head coach Robert Saleh was the defensive coordinator during Thomas' tenure in San Francisco (2017-2020).

The interior lineman initially joined the Jets on a one-year free agent deal last offseason after spending the 2021 season with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Fitting right into Gang Green's defensive line rotation, Thomas saw playing time in all 17 regular season games. He made 26 combined tackles, including 13 solo stops, in 2022.
