New York Jets' veteran players have the earliest training camp reporting date of all 32 National Football League clubs.

Gang Green's rookies and veterans will check in on the same day in Florham Park Wednesday, July 19.

The official report date is precisely 15 days prior to the Hall of Fame Game, which will feature the Jets and Cleveland Browns on August 3.

The actual day that veterans show up is usually reserved for physicals and meetings. Practice No. 1 will likely happen on July 20.

The Browns, who host their camp in Berea, OH, are asking rookies to report on July 19 followed by veterans on July 21.

The NFL released a Training Camp kickoff schedule that includes all 32 franchises on Wednesday afternoon, exactly three weeks before the Jets will land in Florham Park.

Due to the earlier-than-usual preseason start, the Jets canceled their mandatory veteran minicamp that was slated for June 13-15.

"We have the first preseason game that everybody loves, the Hall of Fame Game, which means we come back a week early. So, giving us some more time out of the building I think is really important for guys to at least take a week to vacation to clear their head," said quarterback Aaron Rodgers at the conclusion of OTAs. "I’m glad we have this extra week."

In addition to the early start, the Jets and Browns will play four NFL Preseason games apiece while the other 30 teams have only three.

“The season is grueling. That window, there’s a science behind the whole thing where you give guys a week off," said head coach Robert Saleh explaining the decision to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer. "So, there’s a theory behind it, and right now, for us, what was more important, the extra reps or the health in training camp — we chose health in training camp."

Meanwhile, the Jets announced that they will host nine public practices during the NFL Preseason, starting with weekend sessions on July 22 and 23. The two open sessions on August 16 and 17 will be joint practices with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
