An enthusiastic crowd was present for the last New York Jets' practice before the pads come on in Florham Park.

For the second day in a row, future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers displayed his red zone precision for the fans on hand and tempers flared at times.

By multiple accounts, wide receiver Garrett Wilson continued to show star potential as he develops a rapport with Rodgers.

Undrafted rookie receiver Jason Brownlee, out of Southern Mississippi, is trending toward "camp darling" status. The overlooked prospect, who earned Rodgers's attention during OTAs, hauled in a long ball from Zach Wilson down the right sideline on Sunday.

The Jets' players have an off-day on Monday before the pads starting popping on Tuesday.

Following Sunday's practice session, head coach Robert Saleh, receiver Corey Davis, defensive end John Franklin-Myers and safety Adrian Amos all spoke from the podium.

One notable quote from each of the four men is listed below.

Robert Saleh

"It’s training camp, these guys are fighting for their lives and fighting for their livelihood, right? They’re trying to get on teams. They’re trying to compete their tail off to get into a starting lineup to earn a spot on the roster, to earn a role and so fights are going to happen. I tell them when you’re fighting with your family, you have a rule as a family. I tell my seven kids, keep it below the neck above the waist. The skirmishes ... they're going to happen and to pretend like they’re not going to happen, you’re just fooling yourself. That’s a product of people competing their tails off."

The third-year head coach doesn't seem to mind if his players mix it up a little as long as they keep it clean. Training camp fights on hot summer days are as old as time and a team like the Jets may actually feed off the fiery environment.

Adrian Amos

"Throughout the offseason, it was just try to find the best fit for me. Going into Year 9, you want to find a place where I can thrive and can continue my career. It's close to home as I'm from Baltimore. Great defense, [former Green Bay Packers teammate] Aaron's [Rodgers] here. I talked to him a few times about the place."

The eight-year NFL starter signed as a free agent on June 13 shortly after news of safety Chuck Clark's torn ACL surfaced.

Amos, who is wearing jersey No. 0, will have a chance to compete for the starting free safety spot in what is a new defense for the veteran. As he makes adjustments and learns terminology, he has been running some plays with the second team thus far in camp. The 30-year-old Amos made 66 straight starts for the Packers over the past four seasons.

Corey Davis

"Saleh was just telling me not to worry and everything's going to work out for the better. I'm happy to be here, happy they kept me."

The veteran receiver was rumored to be a salary cap casualty cut candidate early in the offseason, but the head coach repeatedly suggested that Davis was in the team's plans for 2023. Set for the final season of a three-year free-agent deal he signed in 2021, the 6-foot-3 Davis offers a large target in the passing game and a capable blocker on run plays.

In 22 games as a Jet, Davis has totaled 66 catches for 1,028 yards and six touchdowns. He's hauled in fewer than 54 percent of targets over the past two years.

John Franklin-Myers

"You look at the stuff he [Quinnen Williams] does on a down in and down out basis. I think the difference is Quinnen dominates run and pass. Big picture wise, Quinnen has the ability and, eventually, this year, next year, will surpass AD [Aaron Donald], Chris Jones."

The Jets' starting defensive end suggested his linemate will eventually claim the No. 1 ranking amongst NFL defensive tackles.

Prior to training camp, the All-Pro Williams inked a four-year contract extension worth $96 million ($24m AAV). In 2022, the Alabama product set career highs in sacks (12.0) and quarterback hits (28).
